Typographic Specimen
This work serves as an example of my understanding of typographic hierarchy and highlights creative solutions to creating an abridged typographic specimen. I chose Caslon because it is one of the first typefaces ever popularly used and has made a comeback in recent years. The rich history of the typeface is explained in the poster, as well as the creator and country of origin. The poster also highlights various ways to use the typeface, as well as some distinguishing features. All of the ornamental elements are glyphs within the typeface, and the colors were chosen to mimic the printing style of Colonial America which is when the typeface originally gained popularity.
